Hi guys,

Im wanting to buy the GTX3484RS but stuck between the choice of a 1.01 rear or 1.21 theres no inbetween. Will be on 6 boost and external gate.

Anyone out there with either the 1.01 is it too small, comes on quick and dies early?

A yone with 1.21, is it to lagy?

At 3500 you would be right in the meat of it. 1.01 will still be very strong in the top end even for a 35 frame.

I have not used the 1.21 but would not expect much lag, I would at a guess still expect around 20+ psi by 3000rpm even with the larger rear housing, providing you have good supporting mods.

Engine load determines boost also, so just cruising at 3500 would not be the same as WOT, I see JETURBO reading this thread I'm sure he can provide more input.

How much power do you want?

If you're running an auto with a big converter then pick the A/R to suit the power you want rather than the boost threshold as most of that threshold will be mitigated by the converter.

Either is going to be pretty snappy with a 3 and a half grand converter.

Would the 1.01 come on way to early, pretty much on boost just cruising?

Are you running a 570 cube v8? If not then not a chance in hell.

The power im looking for is 450rwkw.

This is a 66 mustang, so plenty for a 1200kg car.

The vband in  out only offers 1.01 or 1.21, I need the vband due to tight space so I can get the right angle ect

The 1.01 housing on the rs flows nearly the same amount as the gen2 gtx 1.06 housing.

Based upon this and the results we've seen with the falcon housing with the gen2 gtx3582r, I think that the smaller housing will be fine for 450rwkw, even through an older style auto with a big converter.

Haha yeah I think it will be a handfull

Just wanted to see if anyone is using the 1.21 and how it is.

Ive had other turbo cars in past builds running a larger rear and woukd come on a little late and be like a light switch. However that was not using the gtx gen2 range

At what pointis the 1.21 warranted? Bigger displacement engine?

You move to a bigger A/R when the back pressure to boost pressure ratio is unacceptable.

Here is a yootube clip that just showed up on my feed that is relevant to this conversation.

Edit: The clip also shows before and after data logs.
