Gearbox and diff????

If they are N/A.  Just get rid of it. Unfortunately now you know you should tell the new owner.

Give them a ring or shoot them an email. They have all of those abilities.

 

If you want to keep the initial outlay to a minimum then another suggestion is to just get a few power runs done with the afr measured and some knock ears used. At least you will know if it will hold together or not. That'll give some peace of mind so you can enjoy your car while you plan what your next move is.

 

There is a vehicle lookup here. I assume when you contacted Ford they gave you this info anyway.

I am not familiar with auto 4 speed, but if its got the 78 diff , it would last long. Drive carefully.

 

Also does it have 16 or 26mm radiator??? Turbo is 26mm..

I'm not sure the specifications of the radiator tbh. It looks pretty sizeable, and I haven't had any issues with over heating at all. If I end up getting more work done to it, I'll keep in mind to check it out. Any easy way to check what kind of diff it's got? I've noticed a few turbo diffs online for cheap if I need to do that.

None unfortunately. Kinda slow to take off tbh. Starts to pick up pretty well after about 2200 rom, sometimes at least. It's got some issues with performance. Rough idle, crazy high fuel usage, definitely doesn't feel like a 320hp car.

He was surely being partially tongue-in-cheek with that comment...

 

You can see the markings on the diff housing if you look from underneath the car. It'll give you an indication of what gear ratio or whether it's LSD.

IF I was in your situation, I would definitely take it to CMS to get looked at. They know their stuff.

At least to verify that the previous guys didn't just slap on a turbo to an NA engine.

 

They could do a power run on the dyno and tell you how she is behaving.

I take it you have no service history for the car and that there is nothing in the glove box, like a dyno sheet either?

 

In regards to not having power to do some skids.... well...... make sure you turn off traction control first!

Then keep the revs at 4000rpm and then dump the clutch.

Haha yeah I was. Physically inspecting the diff markings is a lot more sympathetic to the mechanicals in question!

My suggestion would work though...
