Car is an FG TURBO SEDAN. I recently swapped the diff in my G6ET and I believe it's now leaking from the LHS seal. I'm hoping I can get away with not dropping the cradle ? In hindsight I probably should've changed these as a precaution while the diff was out ? Thanks in advance. I use a seal removal tool- And a seal driver But if you are short on tools a screwdriver and an appropriate sized socket works well 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/93805-diff-seal/#findComment-1654507 Share on other sites
***VX*R8*** Member 202 Member For: 11y 6m 5d Gender: Male Posted 27/03/18 07:30 AM Author Share Posted 27/03/18 07:30 AM That's what I was hoping to hear I have a removal tool just like that and a bearing press set that should hopefully have a piece that will work to press the seal on. Thankyou ??? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/93805-diff-seal/#findComment-1654522 Share on other sites

I ordered a new seal but a bit unsure how much needs to be removed to get to this. I'm assuming, the wheel, hub, brakes ect all comes off and then by the looks of it there is a bracket locking the driveshaft in place. After undoing that bracket the driveshaft should then be able to be unscrewed? Box stock T. Member 1,384 Member For: 10y 13d Posted 08/05/20 11:43 PM Share Posted 08/05/20 11:43 PM There's no way you can do diff seals without removing the axles. Everything after the seals has to be removed. Shorts shafts hubs brakes and of course the wheels. Have fun.
