Hey, New to the forum. Just purchased a Mk1 BF Typhoon on Petroleum grey and while she is definitely a nice car and drives well...When I was test driving her the boost gauge  doesnt go up all that much. Not that I was exactly flooring it... Its done appox 130000k and looks to be in great condition with all service records (Brembo calipers could do with a repaint!) Just asking what to expect in regards to the boost gauge and my driving, thanks. (when I was taking off at the lights I had to really give it stick just for it to move to a quarter, which it did quite effortlessly)

It's a pretty useless gauge, but yeah, arronm is right and it goes to about 2/3rds at full boost when the car is stock. If you're worried about the actual number, get it run up on a dyno and you'll see the boost and power numbers it's producing :spoton:

the gauge is pretty wank haha

chuck it on the dyno, use someone who specialises in ford turbos see what boost its running, I wouldn't rely on the gauge.

stock turbo may be on its way out and or needs the boost solenoid cleaned out thingo. semi blocked cat who knows.

what area are you from.

Thanks Arronm and Freaky...Ill save a bit of coin 1st though...Paid cash I saved for this Typhoon on looong 12 hour shifts 8 on 4 off lol....Also, is it normal to hear the wooshing sound after turning off your car like the turbo is spooling down? I hear this is normal? Might pay for me to wait 30 secs before turning off the car.
