Lol. Yeah hoping I don’t have to pull too much apart but getting access to all the fasteners I need to get to is pretty damn frustrating/painful. Part of me thinks just pull it all out from manifold to cat and I can check everything over properly and tighten it all right up as I reassemble.

That said having to reassemble it all on the car will mean I need to access all those hard to reach spots anyway....

stay tuned for more swearing and frustration this weekend :wild:

Ok so guy at exhaust shop has had a look and is pretty stumped. He seems to think that there is a greyed up carbon area near the turbo... he is talking about a c spring or something near front of turbo.

He he was honest with me and said he doesn’t really know the cars that well and was hesitant to start pulling turbo apart etc.

what should I do now? I’m thinking of taking it to ford but am now pretty worried that the turbo is in trouble.

Any advice much appreciated!

Don't take it to ford man, take it to someone who knows these cars inside out like a reputable tuner.

Let us know what area you are in and someone will let you know who wont fark it up for you.

As for actually taking the turbo apart? Fark me it sounds like you dodged a bullet there.

Yeah he’s a nice guy this bloke but I don’t really trust him with anything other than some exhaust repairs. Ok so I’m in Eastern suburbs Melbourne, leave work in Kew and drive out to the Dandenong ranges every day so anywhere in the east or south east would be preferable...
