It can also catch oil and return it to the sump in a racing application. Without being too picky, that diagram shows the right connection but it looks like that nob on top could indicate a filter which would be moot if the catch can is connected to the intake. Edit: You need to connect the rear vent too otherwise the motor will still be sucking in crankcase gas.
