I have a 2013 Mk II Ford Turbo that I am about to spend a few dollars on. The car will only ever be for street use so I am looking to modify the vehicle so it has a noticeable increase without going overboard (which on many things I have a habit of doing). This list is shown as 'Stage 1' but there is no indication of what the final result would be. I know there are many people here that would read it out to within a small range of rwkw They show: Custom dyno tune Xcal 4 flash tuner Pre dyno inspection Dyno print out 1000cc injectors Re-gap spark plugs Cooler thermostat Another example: $2,900 • Pre-tune engine inspection • SCT X4 Flasher Unit • Xtreme Custom Tune • Before and after dyno report • Regapped spark plugs • Cooler thermostat • I.D 1000 injectors Reading some posts here, the recommendations (I thought) were turbo mods etc. Is what shown above worth estimated $2,400 or is it better considering the target rewkw to spend $$ another way ? Even if that list is what would be a first, what would we add for about $2,000 ? I appreciate the thought and feedback, thanks.

Each one is identical in it's actual outcome, just one obviously charges more for the components/labour. Those injectors are overkill, but are "easy to tune" with, hence why both tuners will get you to buy them. You can get much cheaper and more suitable injectors for your power goal. The best first mods for an FG are injectors, cat and tune. So if you want a little more then you can replace the factory cat. Have a read of this thread to get more ideas/thoughts. The FG turbo (gt3540)is maxed out around 320-340rwkw. Unless your going to look for more power then that? Id look at a high flow cat plus dump pipe with some bosch 650cc injectors purely cause cheaper jets and will be plenty enough for the power the stock turbo can hand out. G6ET-Paul New Member 4 Member For: 7y 2d Posted 27/12/17 08:33 AM Author Share Posted 27/12/17 08:33 AM Thanks for the reply. Good info from both regarding reply's injectors, and I am sure I don't want to change turbo so I am ok with 'the turbo maxed out at 320-340rwkw' . As for the high flow cat, the dude I spoke to reckons that the standard exhaust is in that range also with some thing removed/changed in the standard cat .... thoughts ? Thanks for the link k32th, I will have a read

There's a "restrictor ring" in the exhaust which is probably what the guy was talking about, which is a "must" to remove, if you want any sort of decent flow. Change the cat & dump, injectors, close the plug gaps tune (hp tuners will be cheaper & work fine) I'm not a fan of cooler thermostats for economy reasons but each to his own. Later down the track a better intercooler & pump. that's my stage 1 after this get your wallet ready!

The tuner should be competent enough to prevent economy effects.

The list I will have quoted and likely no reason not to just 'open the wallet a bit' High Flow cat'I.D 1000 injectors (assuming the difference is only hundreds from I.D 650....... and I think now I will do one upgrade [Stage 1 ish] but I have been wrong beforePlug gaps (hard to believe they would charge more than an hour for this task)SCT X4 Flasher UnitTune I believe with that I am still in lower range; if I was to spend another $1-2k, what would it be ? For three grand on top of the injectors and tune etc I'd get a turbo back exhaust which obviously includes the cat. I'd also grab an intercooler kit and a fuel pump. You might be pushing it to include labour in that though.
