Thanks for the add guys. I'm sure this question has been asked to death but after searching google every chance I get I can't find a definitive answer. are the turbo t5 input shafts different to the na t5 box? mine is shagged and I can get a good one for $400 that is supposedly from a turbo but neither of us know how to tell, short of pulling my clutch and making the 90klm round trip to find out. cheers.

no, the T5 input is the same on all models that had a T5 gearbox (as far as I know), as it was never meant to handle decent power :)

will a t5 bolt into a turbo car? I know the ratios are different. I just looked at clutches on ebay, they all say 23 teeth spline and 26mm diameter shaft on both na and turbo clutches. I guess I just answered my question lol

no :pooh:, because T5 =/= T5Z.

I’m fairly sure the input shaft and other differences make up the T5Z so the answer is no to the original question

T5Z is not the name of the 5-speed manual gearboxes fitted to XR6T's, is it? I thought it is just a T5 with slightly stronger gearset... but it appears you're right, J@, in terms of the input shaft, from what I can find online...

N/A clutch is 26.2mm OD with 23 teeth on the input shaft spline connection

Turbo clutch is 23mm OD with 26 teeth on the input shaft spline connection.

Anyway, happy to be wrong :) as long as the person who needs it gets the right information.
