Getting tuned with hp tuners the car idles perfectly but when they go to run it on the dyno at 2500rpm the ecu sh*t itself. The 5th cylindre is dead the ecu doesnt seem to be pulsing the injector when the injector is earthed the injector pulses, the coils are all fine. Swaped another ecu got it reflashed by ford to suit the car and now the same issue occured while the car was getting tuned. What could be causing this issue

This will rule out a faulty wire.

Striped the wire and when you touch a wire to thed striped wire and the chassis the injectort will pulse

k31th less WHY; more WOT Site Developer 29,277 Member For: 16y 10m 21d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 03/11/17 11:52 PM Share Posted 03/11/17 11:52 PM if it's not the injector, the coil driver is known to fail occasionally in these ECU's, which earth's out the coil and causes it to immediately corrode the connector and joint, which makes the coil driver issue worse - negative feedback loop essentially... If the parts that die aren't replaced when the ECU is replaced (the loom and associated coil and plug) then it can kill a new ECU in the same way with the earthed out coil. That's my best guess
Moods New Member 4 Member For: 7y 4m Posted 04/11/17 12:02 AM Author Share Posted 04/11/17 12:02 AM The only thing is that when the car idles and its on 5 cylinders when the injector wire is earthed at tbe ecu end the injector will pulse and the car will sound like its Running on 6 cylinders for a split second. Very weird

Read a few more threads in this section regarding missing or no injector pulse. Fg ecu will drop injector pulse on some cyls if it picks up specific coil misfire events.
