She had just serviced it herself changed oil and filter. I use Penrite 10 tenths 10w-40. Ive also used Nulon full syn 10w-40 and royal purple 10w-40 all were good couldn't tell the difference between them. F666E Member 29 Member For: 13y 7m 6d Gender: Male Location: Perth Posted 09/12/13 06:55 PM Share Posted 09/12/13 06:55 PM This is relevant, I contracted as a manager at a reputable mining machinery diesel maintenance company not too long ago and one of the mechanics did what was a minor service (dropped fluids, spun filters) it was a last minute "need the truck back on the road ASAP" job. The young fella did the service and in good time!!! Truck gets picked up, 20 minutes later and I get a call, " the truck has exploded oil all over the highway" Anyway to cut a really long story short, the mechanic put hydraulic oil in the engine and over filled it by twice the normal amount, truck took ~19L and he put ~40L into it. Luckily the head gasket was the weakest link and it fortunately didn't throw a conrod! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
