Had a mate go to a call out once a ladies corolla or something wouldn't start. She had just serviced it herself changed oil and filter. Wouldn't crank over, so my mate checked the oil level and much to his surprise she filled it up...allllll the way to the top of the engine something like 20L of oil had gone into it haha.

And here I am worried I put approx 300ml too much oil in last service..... Haha that's awsome!!!! I have noticed though that small amount of oil is in each inlet runner (had top off the other day)so maybe should take some out??

Welcome,

Everyone will have a different opinion. I use Penrite 10 tenths 10w-40. Ive also used Nulon full syn 10w-40 and royal purple 10w-40 all were good couldn't tell the difference between them. Any good brand oil in the right grade will be fine...

This is relevant,

I contracted as a manager at a reputable mining machinery diesel maintenance company not too long ago and one of the mechanics did what was a minor service (dropped fluids, spun filters) it was a last minute "need the truck back on the road ASAP" job. The young fella did the service and in good time!!!

Truck gets picked up, 20 minutes later and I get a call, " the truck has exploded oil all over the highway"

Anyway to cut a really long story short, the mechanic put hydraulic oil in the engine and over filled it by twice the normal amount, truck took ~19L and he put ~40L into it. Luckily the head gasket was the weakest link and it fortunately didn't throw a conrod!
