Same here using royal purple for the past 6yrs in the turbo and my old supercharged xr8 always used it also. The 10W40 for the turbs and V8 and that's all my mechanic uses so that's why I started with it.

For the tenth time also I'll say that I use it in my Rover50 4stroke lawn mower and still looks pretty fresh after 2yrs of use! LOL

+ 1 more for Rp filter at 5k oil at 10k. Have considered running it in my Rangie after draining cause it always comes out fresh as daisies. Had it analysed a couple of time by an oil lab and after 10k it always came up trumps

I notice that Supercheap are now selling Nulon 0W-40 fully synthetic. Is this new? Lawsy, thoughts?

Stick with the 10w-40, its already thinner than most 10w's anyway, but not quite a 5ws...

I still believe 0w oils in the Ford I6 is a waste of money (since, on average, 0w oils are more expensive than 5w or 10w).

We're getting to a point with oils where the difference between the very good and truly great oils is becoming less apparent.

Just don't be stupid about it. Only buy full synthetic oils, from the best brands that these fella's recommend, in the right viscosity range (5w or 10w to 30 40 or 50 depending on your conditions).

Until you start buying engines from SPIKO you shouldn't be to concerned about engine life, and the half watt of power you'll gain from changing your Motul to Royal Purple just isn't worth it.

Ive recently had castrol edge 10w-60 put in mine, I dont know a heap about oil but what would the 60 do over 10w-40 which I usually use?

Ive driven a few thousand k's with it and it seems fine the engine note has not changed or anything.

the oil temperature in these cars will go over 100C if you put the boot in. this is when the 60 will provide more protection than the 40, as the oil gets thin when it heats up.

I have been using Mobil 5w-50, I must say it is a good oil though from when it had 264kw to a now 370kw, its has never had outstanding fuel econemy like other cars ive seen.

So my new choice is Nulon in my upcoming service.. but cant decide whether to run 10w-40 "hitec fast flow oil" or the 15w-50 street track mix.

Has anyone used both?? and can share some experiences with me?

Remember I am running 15psi @ 370rwkw, though I can say I dont thrash it too much.

60 weight too heavy me thinks. I use the Nulon 10w-40 fully syn in mine with a moderate tune. Start making real power and/or sustained wot runs like a circuit/track racer and 50 weight would be better suited. My cousin builds big dollar circuit stuff (Melbourne Performance Centre) and they run 50 weight in most of their engines.
