ahhhhhh! I bought the car from sydney and drove it back. it was TWEAKN. he told me the oil was fresh. so give it 1000km. he said it doesnt burn much oil, apart from the trans, so I didnt even think twice about it. I havent given the car much of a hard time, but it seems fine, but I guess you wouldnt know until something bad happens...so whats the advice atm, I need to strip the engine down...!! it took about 3 litres of oil, and these engines hold 7 or something dont they?

Ok guys, and girls.

Here's a copy of the last three SOS samples I've had done on my car.

Don't interpret what the technician says as meaning to panic.

I've seen far worse and not many better than the results I've got.

Everything is in acceptable limits as far as I'm concerned.

I just had 15,000klm service on my typhoon (only done 5,300klm but is now 1yo). It was serviced by Bremer Ford, who did a good job (I think?!?) for a good price.

I just have one problem they used Castrol Protec (GTX3?). Should I be concerned? I don't drive it too hard!

Sorry if this has already been answered but I'm struggling with a hangover and may have missed one of the 116 posts.

Not sure about the oil mate but I wouldn't take my car to bremer ford. Last time I went there they left some of my turbo pipes and crossover pipes on lose. They blow off down the road. Rang them back and they told me to drive it back to them as is. Needless to say I didn't.

Just changed to Nulon 10W-40 full synthetic. Much cheaper than Castrol Edge and Australian made. It's also available in 20L drums at $170 so that saves me a bit in the long run.
