I don't think so. There are a lot more loads on a lubricant film than shear loading in an engine.

But surely you don't think that some of the bad performers in this (industry standard and accepted) test will get better under harsher conditions do you?

Not particularly, I'm more interested in the completeness of a test. Maybe (and who knows) a good performer in this type of test may not do as well in the "real world".

Still a good read nonetheless - wouldn't regard it as conclusive though.

I use nulon 15-40w it's only semi synth.but it matches the factory recomended wieght for the oil

others run nulon 10-40w full synthetic that seems good

and all other types as well

Royal Purple 10w40 full synthetic.

I have to go out of my way to get it, as only 1 autobarn nearby stocks it.
