When you say there was no oil in it how much oil came out when you pulled the sump plug out?

I cant believe that any enginer would last longer than 10min with no oil.

A guy at work once filled his civic up to the top of the oil cap and wondered why it didn't even turn over.

I think he put in about 10 litres or something stupid like that.

Mechanic at the servo came out emptied most out and he drove it home blowing so much smoke he couldn't see behind him.

If theres no leaks it is most likely burning oil. Had it had its first oil change yet after the rebuild? As Maximus said, how much oil came out of the sump when you drained it. Not too good considering only 5000km old. New engine, dyno tuning, drags, calder all in under 5000km on running in oil wouldnt be good.

sorry for the dumb question guys, but from my understanding 0w-40 would be the best oil to use in a xr6t ba? just because the castrol web site says that 10w-60 5w-50 would be the best to use

I run 10w40 in my BF and I wouldnt personally go higher or lower but other people run those weights and are happy. As long as you have a quality oil you will be good.

Darkness, 0w is not the best for these engines, although people here will say otherwise. Stick to 10w40 unless you have a seriously modded 6T.

And dont use Castrol Edge. heard many bad reports.
