I have fitted the leather boot-pull-down strap which is stock on the BA Fairlane/LTD range. It screws into one of the holes in the bootlid and looks great when used with the felt bootlid liner. To do this mod you will need to order the following parts:

1. V 820183 S36D (leather strap $13.56 dealer price);

2. V 800537 S36C (bolt $1.45 dealer price);

3. V 820183 S36D (retainining clamp $1.45 dealer price).

The clamp sits hidden behind the metal of the bootlid and the bolt just screws into it, holding your new pull-down strap in situ.

It's actually a fiddly little bugger, that clamp, so be aware that you'll need a little patience.

But the result is very practical and very neat.... No more finger marks!!!

Cheers,

Ivan.

This sounds very interesting. Anyone care to share pics? Sharing is caring. ;)

I pull the lid down with my hand on the inside of the boot lid (I have not fitted the internal cover). Then when it is about 5cm from closing I just drop it and it clicks into place.. Jobs done, No prints....

just curious to how you got dealer price on parts and why there is such a variance in the price you got and our dealer price.
