if the LSD had blown to pieces and it's destroyed seals etc etc I dare say the crown and pinion gears may be worn and if you're going to do it, do it right but better than a factory new item which is average imho in the ute, sedan no worries but the ute diff set up is a bit chit lol 

 

new TruTrack, crown and pinion gears,bearing kit,shim kit seals etc etc and just get your mechanic to fit it all up

How did you get on jimbog? What was the end result and did you have to replace the whole thing or just the diff center?

Still haven't had it fixed, mate. I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow to find out exactly what's wrong with it, then I'll be going through jeturbo to source me the parts to have put in.
