speak to your tuner is the best as we know nothing about your current set up

but generally the fuel system may need beefing up

fuel pump/injectors/surge tank/e85 safe hoses  etc, drain tank and lines. re tune.

if you cant get e85, run your tank as empty as your willing to go, fill up with 98, switch your tune if you have xcal. away you go.

e85 has its pros and cons, been covered 100s times, im sure theres heaps of threads about it. its not for everyone that's for sure.!

Thanks for the quick reply and great info. I've been reading and see that people are getting really good results running e85. ATM I have a 255l pump, 42psi injectors, cold and hot side 3" piping with large plazmaman cooler, flapper mod and 12psi actuator.

What's involved in swapping to e85?

Bare minimum is a tune.

Once upgraded and tuned can you use 98 if you can't get e85 for some reason?

Yes but you'll need to change the tune to suit the fuel.

Has anyone had problems running e85?

Yes. Mainly blockages and deterioration. Tune issues are constantly present as the ford pcm is not suited to flex fuel tuning. Availability can be an issue.

Ok this is starting to sound like hard work for a daily driver. I was hoping just a pump/injectors/tune and then see massive gains ;) looking at the link above, fuel rail and reg needs upgrading.

If staying with 98 and upgrading the plenum what gains can be seen?

That's the short of it. Your fuel filter might get blocked to start with but that's no biggie. No need for more than that for hectic gains.

Of course if you want more then more needs to be done.

Get to reading mate and see what works for you.
