Lol there are plenty of genuine stock or aussie assembled and balanced rebuilt cores available to repair/rebuild a turbo. While actual genuine rebuild "parts" may not be supported as such you won't be in the position of being forced into upgrading any time soon.

There is also plenty of aftermarket cores that can be used after double checking the build and balance on them when they arrive from overseas.

The reason you should upgrade is because repairing/rebuilding a stock turbo already cost around half the price of a new upgrade.

Why not go all out and swap the manifold etc and get a proper turbo?! :stirthepot:

gcg are doing a deal this month with their new GTW3684 if you trade in your original 3582. Turbine housing has to be in usable condition for them to reman it for use.

$2400.

check out their fb page.

I did see that, I wasn't too sure about it as I thought most GTW's where external gate (even though this deal isn't) and the size of the unit is slightly different, different water/oil fittings.

And I thought Gtw was more track focused mid range where as gtx was lower spool for the street? Can someone correct me here?

Also, for that price, plus the oil drain kit, plus fitment kit, plus plus plus, the price of their gtx2 replacement is pretty comparable (as that is either included or not required)

Yeh true actually, given the GTX2 kit comes with studs, nuts and gasket kit.

I'd still think even with the $170 oil drain kit to suit the GTW from GCG, plus gaskets, studs and nuts, the whole package would come in under or right on the price of the GTX2 kit, which is $3600.

Application though, well that's not my forte...
