It was my daily driver and when I got it back from them at first it thumped badly through all the gears even when cruising in 50kph areas. I went back to them and they told me this was expected and it was a feature of the tune adjusting the shift points to try and save the gearbox from the extra torque. As the tune only made around 211rwkw and it was my daily driver I asked them to set the shift points back to factory, and it was fine for over a year, until after one weekend of driving it harder than normal it started slipping and so I had it rebuilt. After that whenever I wanted to give it a hard time I put it in Perf mode and it seemed to be happy days, then eventually sold it another year later. I now have a 2012 FG XR6T MKII with ZF 6 speed auto, and am interested in getting it tuned, but wanted to get some feedback around adjusting shift points / harsh shifting, is that just something that is needed for the older 4 speed, or is it the reality of chasing more power? I love how smooth they drive with the stock shift points... just hoping I can 'have my cake and eat it too' haha. Cheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bossmang FREAKY Donating Members 12,430 Member For: 14y 11m 6d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 27/04/17 10:07 AM Share Posted 27/04/17 10:07 AM ha HPF. zfs stock they drive great esp if its your daily. ive only had mine lighty firmed up for the drags. but on a stock ZF I wouldn't be suggesting getting it firmed up. you may even find firming and tuning her up will eventually snap the input shaft depending how you drive it. pick a new tuner that's for sure. whats the plans for for this car? mod? tune? or just a zf tune? The car only has 38,000KM on it, and I get a ride to work so only drive it on the weekends so the k's will stay pretty low! Hoping to keep it for a long time, when I have some spare $ will throw some mods at it and a tune but really just want to keep it reliable - Was a bit disappointed with the BA tuning experience and then again when the gearbox let go, hoping not to repeat that one I'm dyslexic and cannot turn off simple functions in tapatalk 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
