vf is a better car than fg-x. no competition- unless you want something fast....

when the government gives more money to one manufacturer to line up their development cycle for a completely new redesign of both exterior and interior features, while simultaneously giving less money to their direct rivals with barely enough to keep them afloat long enough to have a single swansong cycle with practically no development time/money, this is the result... of course the VF has more features.

Could only imagine the cost if the HC is 200k converted, ready to go here

would have to be a 300k car once landed and converted and being only 3000 sold it will be harder to get a mob to do the potentially 1 off conversion

but

if I livedin Merica I would be chomping at the bit for one :)

K31th makes a valid point re government sponsorship being unfairly biased towards Expensive Daewoo but it doesn't take development funding to manufacture seats that don't squeak, a dash that doesn't have more rattles than a jar full of nuts and so much drivetrain/road  noise coming through the rear wall of the cabin that I've gotta constantly check there isn't a hole behind my seat. After all my XC, AU and BA never had these issues. I've argued with my Expensive Daewoo loving friends for years that the Falcon is the only true Aussie designed car, not a variant of an Opel body with a yank motor but a true local with arguably one of the best 6 cylinder engines in the world, designed and built here so it's disappointing that they've dropped the ball so much in the end. I don't care if the styling is a bit dated or it doesn't have the latest in cabin electronics but surely fundamentals like seat height, squeaky seats, road/drive train noise and rattly dash point to the head of design/engineering either being a deaf dwarf or an imbecile.

Oh well...... I'd still rather walk than drive a Commodore ?

Dude, they couldn't even get the diff bush sorted in 15 years. All they had to do was walk out into the carpark and stick there head under a VE commodore. What chance is there with other issues.

The vf is a much nicer car no doubt, like I've said before between the Ve and fg, the fg wins hands down, between the vf and the fgx, the vf is better in every way (except the engine and gearbox). But if I had to own one, I'd be an fgx xr8 any day, really all the cool techno gadgets will be outdated soon anyways and for a real raw experience you can't go past it. Sub 60k for a 335kw monster yes please.

Its ts such a shame fraud dropped the ball with the rear end and essentially gave up on the coon. The Barra and Miami were probably the two greatest engines being produced at their time. Much better than any LS. Even mustang owners are saying they should have come with the Miami.

Long story short If you want something with good tech, comfortable, great on fuel and reasonable pricing, go and buy an i30 diesel. If you bleed blue you won't care about the stupidity of frauds mistakes and go enjoy the last ever Aussie built muscle car.

Anything RWD and high powered is like a great big dinosaur in my opinion. I am a big fan of AWD cars....mmmmmmmm <3

I'll go rear wheel drive over front wheel drive though, been doing my head in driving a few over powered FWD cars lately.

and honestly I love Fords but when you line up an old h0lden next to an old ford one of them will have significantly more rust which started far earlier in the vehicles life.

honestly this could have implications for the future values as lots of them will be rusty buckets of crap so there will be less of them around. coupled with the fact xr6ts are basically worth nothing these days I was actually jumping for joy at receiving good money for my old BF.....from the one and only serious enquirer...

Ahhh different strokes for different folks.

IMO all wheel drive is no fun on public roads. Too grippy which means pushing them to stupid extremes to have a bit of fun. If you're talking hillclimb, rally or club events then sure they're a lot of fun. Then there's the aggot squash factor.... Falcons and Commodores were made for typical Aussie families and as such there is decent room for comfortable driving. My son has a 06 WRX and at 6ft tall I find I have to pick my nuts up and hold them out of the way just to sit in the bloody thing?. Give me a rear wheel drive dinosaur any day cos they usually come with big arse amounts of torque so a bit of sideways action can be achieved without running the risk of vapourising yourself and a power pole if you get it wrong. And remember.... If it weren't for a meteor T Rex would be munching on you as a morning snack
