I think my issue with the R888 in the wet was when they were getting bald. Early on they were fine.

I have run 2 sets of R888 285 30 18 on the back of my street rims. (One set of 245: 345,000kms on the clock I go through a few sets :)) 2nd set I had 2 extra grooves put down the centre for wet ability.

Made the road noise even worse but helped with water until half worn.

They were grooved by Bill at Gordon Leven Motorsport Emu Plains. Did a great job. Very knowledgeable bloke with anything tyre related.

Ended up getting the new r888r due to rim limitation and size availability.

Pretty good so far, equal to the original r888 in the dry, better in the wet and much quiter.

Nelsonian101 - your tyre dude know his stuff as the new r888r allready has a groove now

I am going to try the Pirelli Pzero Corsa, Tempe has them cheap and they are 60 treadwear. Should be very sticky.

Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's stick like sh*t to a blanket. Great in wet too.
Didn't use on street for daily driving, only during street Motorsport events
