Hi guys

Latest to my small problem

It seems that the sound is coming from the IR Blow off valve

Both fast  and normal and take off from lights normal speed  it just not stop

Tried adjusting control on the side of blow off valve ( Does nothing ) So I would think the blow off valve is broken

The name on it is IR Blow off valve

It looks like an easy replacment

Question is this a good Blow off valve or should I replace with another ??

Question Where do I purchase

Question Can I install myself

Thanks again guys really appreciate your comments

Cheers Steve

Looks like a cheapie, but I don't know it, personally... you can tell if it's leaking if you just idle the car and there's air blowing out of that "trumpet" section, as it shouldn't be blowing any air out under vacuum/idle conditions.

Get a stock one and put it in there, if necessary.

Yes, you can install yourself if you have the right tools to get the clamps on the hoses undone/done-up.

Yes, stock XR6T's have a "re-circulation" valve, which is a form of blow-off valve that recirculates the waste air back into the air intake instead of releasing it to atmosphere like the aftermarket one you have.

You can get one from a wrecker (cheaper) or Ford (more expensive). It's the same BOV for BA/FG. Or you can buy another aftermarket one (more expensive than Ford)

I might be wrong here, so please correct me if I am wrong.

In that picture it looks like the adjustment screen can be tightened up to recirculate the air back into the system instead of ventilating to the environment.

Do all Blow off valves do this?

If if you tighten the screen does the sound of a boost leak actually reduce?

After doing a bit of a search, I found this

https://www.neon-technologies.com.au/products/dual-port-blow-off-valve-bolt-on-for-audi-s3-a4-a6-s3-and-tt

Seems like it is a dual port blow off valve. So if it does recirculate and the OP does turn the screen to harder, will he still hear hear it as much if it is recirculating?

With dual port bovs the two outlets are staggered so the recirculating side opens before the externally vented. So if its working as it should when cruising it will be quiet and when you be smashn the boost she'll be loud AF.
