BA tail lights need some electrical help plz

So my ba xr6t has no tail lights although the brake lights work fine so far I've swapped globes relays and fuses still nothing I also followed another thread an pulled apart the steering stalk inspected all those wires none are broken every other light on the car works fine just no tail lights any suggestions I'm running her at Calder this Friday and don't have time to get a auto elec to milk me dry???

why would an auto-elec milk you dry? seems like an odd expectation...

 

check the fuses first as that's easiest.

 

got a multimeter?

1. check the switch on the headlight stalk that the voltage correctly switches when you turn the headlight switch.

2. take out the tail-light bulb and use the multimeter to check the voltage activation at the tail-light, too, when you switch the headlights on.

 

If it's not working at the stalk, replace the switch/wiring as necessary to where you track the voltage activation failure.

If it's working at the stalk/wiring and it's not working at the tail-end, then you'll likely have to trace the wiring to find where the issue occurs in the pathway.

If it's working to the bulb, then the bulb likely has a failed filament and replacing the bulb(s) will fix it.
