Hi,

I want to go to 18's on my fg xr6t with brembos, it's a sedan.

What would be the best size options and offsets? Also could you please give me Tyre sizes too?

Considering 18x9 for fronts and 18x10 for rears. If this is OK, how much gaurd rolling involved?

Many thanks

I'm looking at getting some new rims soon. The plan is to run 295-305mm on the rear of an FG sedan.

The rears will be 19x10.5 +43 (getting someones wheel of same spec test fitted this weekend). Will also be using a suspension spacer and possibly rolling guards so not too worried about rear.

With these rims, for the front, I have either the option of 19x9.5 +35 (with 255 tyre I guess)? Or a 19x8.5 +33 (not listed on site but listed on manufacturer site, so should be able to get them) with a 245 tyre.

Which would be better? Without rolling guards, fg xr6t sedan.

This is an 20 inch 8.5 +35 with a 30/245 on the front.

Dont sit as flush as I would have liked. +30 would be perfect for an 8.5 front imo

Also fg rear guards cant really be rolled, feel the guard there is pretty much nothing there as it is.

This is a 9.5 in +38 and it looked to me like there was plenty of room on the inside to fit atleast a 10 inch without any mods as long as the offset was spot on. Could be wrong.

8.5" +33 offset will be better with 245 tyre.

+20 to +30 offset would be better for the front.

I ordered some wheels last week and *then* started shopping for tyres. I have 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 on the way over, in hindsight I should have gone 18 but it's done now. Not a huge amount of tyres in 275/30/19 to choose from! I was keen on Invos but I've just had a reply from st george (where I got my NT01s) that they're not available in that size. Goodyear AS2s are available at a ball hurting $550 a piece, but at the moment this is my best option. I know these tyres are good though cause I run them on my wife's GTI, so an expensive but safe bet.

heaps more availability and lower prices in 35 profile but that will push the car up 12mm, sit 12mm closer to the wheel arch and will change my speedo reading by a decent amount.

st george has NT05s at a good price in 245/35 and 275/30, does anyone run them as a street tyre? What are they like in the wet and what is the noise like? I want something that's very high performance but it will be a street tyre only. There are lower end options like KU31s which are always a bargain, but I've had 3 sets of those on my old XR5 and while they're good for the price, I think I want a better tyre for the F6.

I have run the NT05 before. If you don't have an exhaust you WILL know they are on the car. I put them on the rear as my previous tyre and could feel them straight away. Previous car had them all round and they got pretty noisy. There is no 285 option for the invo?

thanks Seaton, that rules NT05s out, I'm guessing the noise is similar to the NT01s but quieter. That would drive me nuts on the commute each day.

I'll call around today to try and find Invos, they're listed on the Nitto website in 275/30 so they must be out there somewhere.. just at what cost. They are available in 285 but from what I read that could be hit and miss on clearance, I'd prefer to play it safe and get 275s.

actually I just went and looked, they're available and bloody cheap ($266 each). Time to do some more reading on potential fit issues!

I love my Goodyear EF1A2's in 265/35/18 ... especially in the wet

I have KU39 in the fronts (apparently slightly better than KU31?)....they are pretty decent and cheap (if you shop around). They would be pretty close grip wise to the Goodyear directional 3's that I had in the front first time round. Comparing turn in speeds here cause only ran those tyres in the front.

My next set of rears will either be the invos or maybe contipro sport 5's....just depends how much money I have at the time....might be too poor and try the KU39 in the rear :P

I choose my tyres mainly for wet weather grip....I can control loss of traction ok in the dry....but when its wet I'm farked....NEVER buy the Falken PT-722 tyres.....Its put me off the falken brand now....even at 30km/h exiting a round about....car slides and I look like a sped trying to return the car to a straight direction lol

apparently NT05 or any semi slick tyre will only get 5000-10000kms max (and closer to the 5K side)....so for your daily, you'll be going through them pretty quick; but I'm sure you realise this already
