Apologies if already asked.

What's the biggest 18" wheel/tyre I can fit under the rear of an fg sedan with SSL/SSSL spring combo.

Thinking 18x10 or 10.5, want tyres to be at least 285s.

If not possible under stock guards, what can you get under with light guard work?

Again, 18s and lowered.

Thanks

285's will fit on a 18 x 9.5 +35 rim. Have these as my street rears.

Always wanted to know this too re 10-10.5" width in 18". Most of the wider wheels experimentation seem to be 19 or 20".

My rear track wheel are 18 x 9.5 +22 offset. 275/35 18 fitted with guard roll and 1.5 neg camber however a wide 285/30 18 r888 did not fit and scraped guards. Car in low though.

I test fit a 18 x 10.5 +38 enkei but the wheel hit inner suspension components.

Even my rear road wheels in 18 X 9.5 +35 go very close on the inner suspension arms. Wheel alignment wheel weights often get knocked off.

I often run 285/30 18 or 285/35 18 on my rear road rims though and are fine with the +35 offset. A 285 on a 9.5 rim is in my opinion too much for a circuit rim due to tyre roll.

My guess is a 18 x 10 rim at a +28 offset may work with a rear 285? Last auto saved: 11:39:07 AM

Yep the smaller OD rims rub can hit the inner suspension components. The larger you go 19 or 20 the further away it sits.

Not interested in 19 or 20" rims. More interested in the performance aspect and availability of circuit tyres.

Hoping to run 285's all round next year on custom wheels. 10" at the back. 10.5" at the front.

With a 285 on a 10.5" rear you would want to keep the offset at 35 or higher I would think! Even at +35 you would have 32mm less inner clearance and the rim would protrude from the guard very slightly.
