hey guys new to the forum

just wondering im looking at a set of rims for my fg 2013 xr6 turbo ute

the wheels are 20 x 9.5 +35et

tyres can be either 20 x 35P x 275 OR 20 x 35P x 255

My question is a. will the rims fit and how much will they fill out the guards or will I have to do suspension work or roll guards

b.what tyre size should I choose ??

Thanks in advance jayden

Hi" found some wheels I like for my G6E.

They are 19x9 and 19x10, both plus 24. Are they going to work, or am I dreaming? Will have to be red rolled/adapters too.

Thoughts?

So I'm looking into some new wheels for my FG XR50T sedan. I've been reading over on the Australian Ford Forums that KPM Motorsport offer a lower control arm relocation kit that gives 10mm extra clearance and have read about one of the guys who's got these spacers and is running 305 wide rear Nitto Invo's on a 10" wide rim (I realise a 295 is probably the max you SHOULD go on a 10" wide rim) using a +45 offset and has 5mm between the bulge of the tyre & the control blade yet still sits in the original guard lip.

He is using Tein coilovers so it is lower than stock, which is the same as my setup. His post can be seen here:

I'm thinking of doing something similar with my ride. I've taken rather a liking to the Vossen VVS084 - Black Machined rims as per below:

These wheels come in the following sizes: 19x8.5 | 19x10 | 20x8.5 | 20x9 | 20x10.5

What size would I best off going with for the rears? The 19's with 19x10 rears or the 20's with 20x10.5 rears? Could I even get the 20x10.5's on the rear without having to do guard work and running camber, and get the same fit as old mate from the Ford Forums? And if so what offset would I need to use and would that offset still allow clearance for a big brake kit (the Vossen website states "All of our wheels offer tire pressure sensor compatibility and clearance for most high performance brake upgrades." and I'm possibly thinking of getting Harrop Ultimates)? I know he is running a +45 offset with a 20x10. Would I get better grip running the 19x10 with a 295 wide tyre as opposed to running a 20x10.5 with a 305 wide tyre?

I'd also ideally like to get a similar looking fit with the front that the bloke form the Ford Forums has also, what kind of offset would I need on either a 19x8.5 or 20x8.5?

Read the thread 'project 305'. Should answer most of your questions.

I would run a 10.5" wheel if going 305.

Remember with 19's you can go a 5% more profile than 20's so you will have more sidewall which allows for more flex and ultimately grip.

Thanks Bellato. I had seen the Project 305 thread previously but think I glanced over it without paying too much attention at the time. Since my post I've also found out that the wheels I wanted have been discontinued...yet are still listed on the Vossen website...sad panda :ermm:

Haha they don't look half bad actually...feel free to get them delivered to my place and I'll be happy to try them ;) I think you'd be struggling a little though...unless you do a fair bit of guard work! HOWEVER, it would mean you could potentially fit a rear tyre as wide as a McLaren P1 (335)...haha

I was thinking if a 20x10 +40 (orange line) with a 305 25 20 fits on a standard car then maybe a 19x11 +40 (green line) with a 305 30 19 might fit with the control blade mod and guard work. Tyre would sit in a similar spot but the 19x11 would spread the tyre more.

dowen, have a look at this AFF thread: http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11378145

Two different 305/25/20 tyre brands on a 20x10 +40 rim with only guards rolled and car is lowered on Kings SSL springs too. Lot of info in the above build thread.
