Fg Offsets And Tyre Questions

can you guys offer some advice pleaseeeee

I have an fg f6 auto on dark argents and stock ride height and suspension atm... looking to upgrade my rims and get some good rubber under it.

the control blade mod that was mentioned seems an interesting solution for the rear, can anyone point me towards a thread with more info????

keeping to 19 inch. not a daily vehicle

aiming for 255 front rubbed and minimum 275 as I have 440rwkw and no torque management.

can you guys point me in the right direction for offset and width for the front and rears.

Could not recommend the control blade mod unless you have found the limit of the best set of 275 tyres you can find. Tyre quality before width people. Ive had cheap ass 275's that than grip significantly less than half decent 245's

Hey guys, what an epic thread.......

I want to know if anyone has a picture of a 19x8.5 +25 on the rear of a FG sedan. Specifically the one piece FR Tempe Simmons. I'm going 19x8.5 +25 on the front, so that's sorted, I just want to know what the rear will look like to match.

18*9.5 +22 front with 245/40R18

18*10 +22 rear with 265/35R18

Would there be any issues with this fitment?

I know that 275/35 (or wider) is probably more preferable on the rear but the specific tyres I'm choosing don't come in that size (Achilles ATR 2)

I'm also considering stretching the 245/40 onto a 10" front rim but undecided at this stage.. the wider the rim the better they look

I'll throw my query in here as well then. FG ute, guards all sit 650mm from the ground (SSL I think) - I would like to fill out the guards a bit more but also I need to carry sh*t and have it function as a work car so I can't go all stanced out brah.

I'm thinking 8.5 +25ish F, 9.5R but unsure on what offset in the rear to be a real world compromise for looks and functionality?

I can revert back to stock height suspension if that makes life easier? And get the guards rolled if required.

Heres some input with pics:

Safe option 20x9.5 275/30 +20. They look like they still sit in a fair bit, maybe +15 would be better for the safe option.

Rolled guards option 19x9.5 -15 with 275. That's +20 rim with a 35mm spacer making it -15.

After finding those pics I think I'll consider 18x10 -01 on the rear for my scenario. With slightly stretched 265/35 they should clear the rear guard without rolling hopefully

Deshi's ute is close to what I'd aim for:

19x9.5 +12 with 245 - fronts have a bit of poke,

19x11 +12 with 275 - they sit flush but needed guard work

With this is mind

18x9.5 +22 will sit 10mm in so should be ok.

18x10 -1 they sit the same so will need rolled guards for 275, 265 may just fit otherwise.

Measured clearances today using weighted fishing line taped to the guard. This is for my standard height ute on factory 17s and the distance is from the rim to outer guard.

Front

Passenger side: 16mm

Driver side: 35mm

Rear

Passenger side: 54mm

Driver side: 75mm

It appears the body is offset ~20mm in comparison to the chassis, I wasn't surprised as this is a common problem.

Just something else to keep in mind when chasing perfect offsets, I guess not much can be done about it besides guard work on one side lol.

Didn't realise it was on the front too! (thought it had to do with realigning the diff or something? I.e. rear difference only).

Might have to measure mine up on the w/e and check it out (could possibly be why my stupid swaybars seem to keep shifting to the left).

Also that pic above is reassuring....I test fitted 18x9.5 +20 and it poked a good 15mm or so in the Left Front (stock height). So once lowered, it should tuck in a decent amount (unless of course pic above also has a 20mm bias lol).
