how floppy are the guards after the massage?

not as bad as I thought they would be. Eventually I will weld it back in. its not that much of an issue.

Has anyone got or have had the 20" Staggered Dark Argents on an fg and if so what was the ride like?

Ask 'Vevapower' he has them on his car

Just spent the last 3 hours trying to read this thread lol but can't really find what I want.

I'm just about to lower my FG sedan on sssl front and ssssl rear. Next stage will be new rims - looking at 20x8.5 and 20x10. Now wondering what tyres and offset I can use to keep the tyre inside the guards (because at the new height I can't imagine a flush fitment will work too well) and I don't want to run negative camber.

From what I've read I could probably go with a +30 on the front with a 245/35 and probably +40 on the rear with either a 285/30 or a 275/35. (I can custom choose my offset up to 42)

Now Im 90% sure this will fit on standard heights or slightly lowered but will this work using the springs Im putting in? I know I won't get much out of it but probably would pump the guards to avoid using negative camber because I really can't afford big tyres scrubbing out on the inside

Cheers

Bellato,

The wheel and tyres sizes you're considering are the same as mine but I'm using Tein coilovers. You will need to be careful on how low you go depending on the tyre that you decide to run as many manufactures have differing measured widths of the same width tyre e.g 285 actual measured width of 295mm. I'm running Nitto Invo's 245 front and 285 rear with the rear tyre being a very tight fit. My car isn't extremely low with a measurement of 631mm from bottom of rim to guard. I've had no issues on the front but the rear I've recently raised up from (621) to the same height as the front (631) due to the tyre scrubbing the guard occasionally during spirited driving. Now that I've done this all is well with no issues. The Nitto 275 tyre is quite a bit skinnier than the 285 (more than 10mm) so if you decide to go 275 you might be able to go lower.

Benny.

Okay thanks! I think I might actually go with a 275 just because looking at prices for wide tyres I don't think I can afford them as a uni student lol. I should be fairly safe with a 275/35r20 (Falken 452 more specifically) do you reckon? Does anyone know how much stretch that'll give cause not the biggest fan of a lot of stretch

Note this is how low my car will be. (pic courtesy of 1NSANE, hope he doesn't mind)
