Farking chiefs in here!

Did I miss the part where you changed the coils and plugs @Kato1290 ?

Before you removed the turbo was the boost controller hooked up right. Both lines out of the solenoid going to the comp cover and actuator?

The actuator line goes in the side of the solenoid and the comp cover hose in the bottom.

Any pics of the turbo that is on it?

Yeah that's hooked up right, I changed the actuator spring to a 5psi one and its still over boosting, does rev a bit higher before it starts doing it though.

Pretty sure its this turbo here     http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Billet-Turbocharger-Ford-XR6-BA-BF-TE06H-W-Garrett-T04R-GT3582R-Killer-/282031666799?hash=item41aa65b66f:g:X2AAAOxyUylTWSpK

I haven't done the plugs and coils yet.

All I want is for the thing to run properly !!

Then get it custom tuned buddy as it's never going to be right with those mods without a tune

Plugs & coils (genuine ford ) should be the first thing you did. Then you know there right - at tech they told us that 90% of fuel issue's are electrical & over the years Iv'e found that pretty much right. Allways make sure the basics are right. For the amount of trouble they can cause put proper plugs & coils in & forget about it for 100K (unless you decide to wash the motor !) Using cheap coils it's allways in the back of my mind 'it could still be a faulty coil' so for the bit more $ use ford & never look back.

No it shouldn't be.

The symptoms point to hitting the overboost cut due to having an aftermarket turbo with a stiffer wg spring.

As such checking the tune is the first thing to do.

With the new info regarding the newly swapped spring it certainly points to the tune being stock.

There are two options to fix that; replace the turbo with a stock unit or tune the car to suit the current turbo.

There is enough info in the thread to show that.

He should still eliminate the cheaper problems first before tuning. Last thing you want is it at the shop with issues. That's a pita isn't it Jet?
