The seller has already contacted me to verify the pitch for the thread. I have replied back to the seller advising that I would go an buy a thread pitch gauge. Repco never seize to amaze me. Went to supercheap auto as their website have the taledo pitch gauge for 40 smackers. Suprcheap had not staff at hand except for at the till. The guy told mee that they dont sell those parts as the part number is for over east. If there was going to be one of them, it would be in isle 17..... nothing there. thought to myself, I <3 Bananasit. not coming back here again. Went to repco and the guys helped me out. went to look for the item and all. RRP is like 20 smackers. They did it for 12 clams..... happy as a pig in mud. Now I can't get the damn gear knob off.... ffs.

Won't matter if ya meat the old one if it's going in the bin anyway. Also be careful not to do any damage to components further down on shaft. Maybe people that donate should not have the ads show up? Back on topic, looks like I am going to have to remove the boot and gear stick before I can do anything. The vice pliers did not fit. I am going to have to rethink how I am going to attack this tomorrow.

I have a couple in my draw and they work wonders for opening or loosening stuff when you're lacking clamping grip or friction.

Much easier to replace shaft and knob with better units. The stick is not expensive, would be cheaper than buying all these tools to get the knob off. Also, you are limited with thread sizes for replacement knobs on the standard shaft.
