Spray it both ends to be sure. 

I usually do this every 5000km with my oil change while I wear my tin foil hat for good luck.

I think I musta got confused cos my wife is yelling right now.

the only reason I am no longer keen on boost solenoid 'maintenance' is the spray could degrade the rubber diaphragm in the wastegate actuator.

 

also in my opinion if it makes a difference then it's time to replace the solenoid. did that in my old xr6t and it was like the thing was just lubed but all the time. oh yeah
