Was driving towards Port Pirie....... nek minut temperature goes through the roof. So I turned it off, grabbed a rag and carefully started reremoving the cap and pffffffft :censored:

I checked the dip stick and there's no oil so I'm guessing head gasket :pain:WfiaNTk.jpg

Check the auto fluid. If it's the same colour, then you've milkshaked the auto. Otherwise, you're right, it's head gasket.

The milkshake would be more red coloured if it came from the trans cooler.

That combined with no engine oil kinda gives it away to being a head gasket rather than a trans cooler failure.

Yep definitely worth a check.

After a while it's probably just worth replacing the trans cooler anyway given their propensity for failure and the fact that they are only a couple of hundred bucks to buy.

2 months out of warranty your gonna have a really hard time getting them to come to the party im afraid.

unless it has full dealership service all on time and per schedule with a bone stock car you may have a 1% chance they will help.

good luck
