fault code reading

the problem is it takes so long to find the info you want with the search. 

 

I got the answer in 2 mins this way. its a no brainer to start a new thread tbh.

I plugged in my xcal3 this morn, but it says unable to read fault codes?

 

also the car wont rev past 3000rpm in neutral- has it gone into limp mode?

 

I also have an elm327 with the torque obd2 app but it says its unable to read the fault codes either- ecu not compatible :angry2:

I dont mean to treat you like a retard but you are turning the ignition to the ON position right? the one where all the lights come up on the instrument cluster.

 

maybe you've got some weird electrical problem, dirty battery terminals/bad battery or something crazy if it can't communicate to the ECU.
