IMO its not the amount of torque/kW - I'm running similar numbers and only have Exedy clutches in my ZF (and a slight tune) Mine was rebuilt using genuine seals and brass bushes - no banging, no flaring, just tight shifts under all loads. Find a reputable box builder and you'll never have an issue with input/intermediate breakage again.

Bare in mind the cost of the mods too, for example, Cryogenic treatment can be done here in Sydney for about $250 for input and intermediate shafts. Just sayin ;)

mine broke turning into my street to go home. only light throttle then bang. stock zf tune.

its just hit and miss. some last forever. I think mine was 50% made from a tin can.

I get mine cryoed $50 a shaft and its 50/50 tune and parts I know its not parts and as im puting a short motor together over a bit of time id rather put billet shaft in and not worry about it later on and exedy clutches are good but dont need them as more oem ones do the same cheers for the info though

mmmmm you can freshen my ZF up for me man ;)

just don't pinch my billet input shaft hahahaha

if ya near freo I can take ya for a spin to show you how my zf shifts, but aye turbotrana has a good understanding of what's going on and he's also made a genuine offer to pull the tune for you - which I'd recommend out of curiosity.

Pretty sure XFT but it was back in 2012/13.

It's done over 100,000kms by now, I reckon torque converter is on its way out.

edit: and 10/10 on the gearbox... cars been thrashed so hard its practically been rebushed all round. broke a tailshaft on way home from buying it.
