@Box stock T. I think im more suited to a manual with a good clutch...

Yeah I hear ya skidz.

I have had a BA xr6, BF Typhoon, SS Thunder 6ltr and now the BA MK2 XR6T.

All have been manuals.

Work wagon is an auto, just can't do an auto in my toy cars. I guess I don't like being told what gear to be in. Hahahaha. I know the zf is a gun box but I like to be in control.

Skiddy its at 100% throttle when you feel the kickdown "bump" in the pedal travel

anything past that to the floor is only activating the "kickdown" allowability in the ECU and if the TCM and ECU are within range ( including Load/road speed/rpm )the drop down gear process will happen

any gear can be selected and held in WOT as long as you've met the minimum road speed requirement, so on the dyno the start speed can be selected as low as 42kmh in 4th and maintain a full pull all the way to just past 230kmh as long as the Pedal is sitting just "on" the kickdown bump also called the "Dentent" iirc

Yeah I appreciate the offer from turbotrana its just I live in melbourne now cars in perth I work 2/1 roster and just had a new baby a week ago so no time that's why gonna put car in get it done in perth and send it over

I am sure pulling the tune could still be organised. A few guys (not many) come on here just wanting to know what the forum members can do for them (wanting answers to questions) but when its the other way around they offer nothing.

Knowing that this trans tune has busted shafts could go some way in knowing what trans tables are the problem. Could benefit forum members. But yeh, not saying you are that bloke but some just take, take take but give nothing back.

You should be happy knowing I've learnt stuff from you. Just by reading your posts.

This is what happens in forums. There's always a core group of guys that contribute and answer questions from us numpties. Trust me I appreciate it. I've learnt heaps in the 6 months I've been here. Posted a lot of sh*t too.

Trust me if I can help with something I'll gladly post it.

By all means help the bloke and send him a safe trans tune.

His old one probably has 50's or something stupid in the pressure tables.

The ZF can't handle kickdown WOT shifts with lifted power, ALL ZF builders will not warrant failure from doing Kickdown abuse even with $2000 billet input shafts... get smart and select a gear before laying into it buddy ;)

a correctly built & TUNED zf can handle big big power WOT upshifts but not all ZF tunes are equal !!!

Not sure if selecting a gear helps when it has done a shaft that way to buddy

@JETURBO I know you only just got your L's last week but how many cars have you seen at 400rwkw break shafts compared to not break shafts by rolling into it?

Also didn't you retune a stock zf car a couple of months ago to over 500rwkw that didn't break, even at the drags?

So far we can see that it broke one shaft attempting to launch with 400rwhp.

Based on the above comment it has broken at least one shaft by rolling into it with 528rwhp or 390 odd rwkw.

The other 2 breakages haven't been described yet but the phrase "kickdown" had been bandied about numerous times in this thread.

Common sense is telling me that whilst this car may be running an inappropriate tune it is also being driven unreasonably hard.

Maybe it's t400 time?

I wouldnt want to drive a car I cant beat up. I am sure the ZF 6 can now be built to cop abuse. Maybe its best I stick with manual. Just gotta luv side stepping the clutch in 3rd for instant smoke. Just not the same with an auto....
