the 2nd gear kickdown is awesome, I do it all the time man. at 80-90km/h having the thing go into 2nd is unreal hahahaha. had some very scary moments on roads I thought were dry and grippy but were not. worst was one time in the wet on the freeway with easily 10-20+ witnesses who would have seen the car fully kick out hahahahahaa - lucky I was on the on ramp.

it shifts harder than it needs to in low load conditions. no slip or unusual noises except one issue is when its cold the rpm bounces up and down by a few hundred revs if im cruising at 50-60 in 4th - I usually put it in performance so it stays in 3rd for longer and it's fine once warmed up. been meaning to get the fluid done actually.

it's also cool the way it shifts when you floor it and go through 1-2-3-4....oooh man I just want one of them fancy circle d converters fitted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dynoed 360kw oct last yearbut should get it thrown up again.

was scary as fark when tailshaft quit life and killed the front section, donut bush and transmission output flange as the tow truck driver said 'hmmm probably your input shaft mate'

they did mine too, mechanic had me drop the shaft off there. not sure what they did do it other than paint it but I had a chat about the cars power level and was told 'leave it with me'.

Cryo treated shaft may in the end not have a material toughness greater than stock. All depends on how good the original heat treatment was. If you have the box apart just fit billet.....

If your in Perth Robby (Monsta torque) is the man..... also depending on your hp you may be better of with the ZF hybrid (mustang input shaft setup)

and with all ZF's the key to its survival is 50% box & 50% tune.... BUT! if you are going to seriously abuse it or have no mechanical common sense then go 3 speed, with over 30 years of R&D & billet everything of the shelf a safe option for some ppl.
