I find that really strange, Sometimes I wonder if they are actually reading the computer or not.

I put mobillsynergy fuel in up till now been using optimax and today came to a quick stop at the light and the motor nearly stalled but fixed itself up in time.you know if this was an old car I would say it had somethin to do with the engine being starved of fuel when the nose dives. Or an electrical conection breaking contact for a short moment or could it be a bad solder joint on a component . I dont know about the ecu software though(unlesss it has a program that says if the driver brakes too hard stall.anyway my thoughts on this hope they fix it be for my car stalls. :hiwelcome:
aniken I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it Donating Members 4,316 Member For: 22y 24d Gender: Male Location: Sydney, south west Posted 29/02/04 09:22 AM Share Posted 29/02/04 09:22 AM Mine has never actually stalled, but it has come close. Generally has only happened at very low speeds or stopped at traffic lights, which doesn't count as a major concern for me.
Guest rabbit Guests Posted 01/03/04 06:47 AM Share Posted 01/03/04 06:47 AM Last week I had the WDS update installed on my XR6 n/a. Certainly makes a difference and so far no stalling or idle-hunting. It's also changed the shift points for the auto. Previously, the 3rd to 4th change occured at 70km/h. It now happens at 63-65. Overall all gear changes are a lot smoother, as is the idle. The trade-off however is that I've noticed the car has a little less mongrel. Maybe coz it's smoother, but it feels like it's lost 2-3% power/torque. Almost seems like they've configured things to reduce the timing of the car. Anyway, we'll see how it pans out long term. Interested to hear from anyone else that's had the update.
Guest beloyg Guests Posted 01/03/04 07:57 AM Share Posted 01/03/04 07:57 AM both autos & manuals stall ford does know about the prblem and there is a fix the problem which is a PCM reprograme (Powertrain Control Module)which will be at dealers by the end of march 04. Its a deceleration calibration fault, very hard for ford to diagnose because prblem being so infrequent.seems more on hot days but sometimes being low fuel tank level also contributes.also had prblems with pcv (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) hoses popping off also on the same hose there is a one way valve which the same hose can blow off .early models had problems with a conrol valve for the evap which caused rich start up. SJW Member 122 Member For: 21y 4m 21d Location: Brisbane QLD Posted 01/03/04 09:20 AM Share Posted 01/03/04 09:20 AM Rabbit,I also had the new calibration and agree with the smoothness of acceleration.I don't think I have lost grunt, but now it comes a lot smoother and more consistent through the gears. I like it.The other thing I notice is a bigger change between adaptive and performance modes. They are heaps different now as whereas they were very simlar before the upgrade. The stall problem has not happened and I have been trying to recreate the conditions which it normally did it.My advice is take your cars, get the updated calibrations and enjoy. Sorry to inform you guy's but I'm curious to know what calibrations your dealers are using. At this present point in time the updated calibrations haven't even left FOMOCO.
