I told him the best way to fix it would be to trade up to a turbo  Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9269-help-for-a-mates-na-xr6/ Share on other sites

Fisrt place to look would be the coil pack or high tension leads. Sounds like it could be ignition related. The other possibility would be a slight blockage in the aircleaner or exhaust. Someone posted here problems with their catalytic converter. I'm not a mechanic but both these could effect what you describe. Ofcourse there could be a million other reasons that I am unaware of. Either way u should have it checked. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9269-help-for-a-mates-na-xr6/#findComment-95074 Share on other sites

Guest joshm006 Guests Posted 21/02/04 05:48 AM Share Posted 21/02/04 05:48 AM I found that the smoke is black and I am almost certain that it is fueling, on start up it is starting rich then leaning off just excess fuel Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/9269-help-for-a-mates-na-xr6/#findComment-95130 Share on other sites
