Is it similar reasoning to replacing the fuel filter because E85 cleans the fuel system so well? With regards to the original topic, with how frequent I drive my car, I do just under 5,000 K's between services and my oil always comes out looking as new as when it went in. That was not always the case as when I first bought it, I replaced most of the fluids (except diff oil which I got done later) and the oil was black. I used Nulon after reading the appropriate which oil thread. I also had an Earl's turbo line feed filter installed after reading the post about the factory screens blocking up and causing the turbo to die. Maybe it's all in my head but I could definitely hear the turbo spool up better after putting in decent clean oil and fitting the filter. Hence you need to change oil sooner. It's not uncommon for cars running E85 full time to get a milk shake build up similar to the symptoms of a dud HG.
