Gday guys

Going to be swapping my ZF gear box for my mates built ZF gear box.

My understanding so far is that if we both have xcal units if we return the cars back to stock then put our tunes back in the cars will read the new gear box's?

Do we need to remove the exhaust or anything to get them out? Just curious as well, Is it possible to do this on the floor?

Any other advice would be great!

Cheers guys.

His car had all sorts of work done to it but then he got a yellow sticker and took the whole car back to stock, sold all his go fast bits. Its got a built motor and box in it now on a factory tune I'm pretty sure. Are you concerned about it having a harder zf tune and getting a factory box? Or something else?

both ways mate, stock box getting the tune for the modded box and the modded box not getting the modded tune it needs, although your mate should have a stock trans tune?

Is Brendan tuning your car once the box goes in? He can sort out a trans tune to suir if need be.

Oh ok gotchya. I would imagine on his x3 just selecting factory tune would be enough but then again I don't know if his got a tune to run the built motor or not. Will suss it out.

Brendan's already tuned it haha. His going to be doing a zf tune for me as well.

His already sold everything apart from his motor now that Rob built. Right price and a swap he will sell his motor.
