My first time attending Bathurst.

My father and brother were invited to bring their cars along to join a Ford parade lap to commemorate 56 years of Falcon production and 91 years of Ford Australia production. Was a great way to introduce myself and my brother to the mountain in his GT-F. Pics to follow

Got to watch the 86's race, then the touring car masters race which was a much better experience than on Foxtel, but you definitely miss some of the action just sitting in the grandstand watching it. The aural and olfactory experience is obviously extremely better than on the tv .

Love the sound of screaming v8's old school v8's probably have a better cadence to them.

And of course that sweet sweet smell of E85 as the v8 supercars go past  

 

Next was the utes. I used my paddock pass to move inside the track and have a look around. This is around from turn 1 and looking onto mountain straight. These guys smell like 98, though...

Walked around the paddock section and moved around to the end of conrod straight as the carerra cup race started. This is very good viewpoint for the high speed nature of the chase section of the track.

Came back to the grandstand for the supercars top 10 shootout (no pics of shootout because it's just one car at a time... Not really photo material, imho.

 

In the gap between the last race and the shootout, a F/A-18 did a bit of a show and I was too distracted to take pics until he moved around for one last fast pass from behind the grandstand to out over the circuit... Just managed to flick my camera on and point it upwards as he did a fast pass overhead and I got this in the corner of my pic haha

 

Fairly awesome experience so far. Will take a look around the whole top of the mountain tomorrow morning before I settle in for the big race

all the effort uploading all these pics and sh*t which is cool, but can't fix car or fix the site.

 

cmon hopefully this experience inspires you to work on your bloody car so you can enjoy it....before it rusts away as a b series typically will cause sh*t construction
