Point is have seen some fugly attempts at a 6 wheeler ute: cruisers, patrols, commonwhores, WBs... This one looks alright imo

Needs turbo conversion on lpi though, saves 30k per job you say... that would do it easy

The grey ute makes 360 rwkw and has not seen boost in probably 6 months as they only get used when needed and is all inner Sydney stuff.

barnz Member 3,047 Member For: 11y 2m 7d Gender: Male Location: Brisbane Posted 08/10/16 01:41 AM Share Posted 08/10/16 01:41 AM just a stock fg turbo setup tuned on lpi would give you muuuuch better torque for its hauling duties imo. I had a couple egas falcon utes back in the day and just loaded up at 1tonne capacity they were puss and wot throttle errywhere...I had the sh*ts with driving one, one day, so drove it about 40mins in 2nd gear (just coz, nothing wrong with gearbox.....) which included about 20mins on the highway pinned at the limiter pretty much. Thing was pretty much siezed when we arrived at the job, no power, foot flat, temp guage pinned...warning lights etc... Thought we will let it cool off before we call it...Actually pretty much forgot about it, jump back in after the job hit the key and I drove the pus box for another year or so no probs and it was traded with like 400k on it......tough barras are tough

Besides the bonnet, front bumper, headlights and guards what else do I need? Also what brackets do I need? Thanks On 07/10/2016 at 11:07 AM, User55555 said: I did our two fg 08 work Utes with the fgx xr8 front was about $3k for all panels and brackets from ford and $800 for paint fitted it all in about two hours the Xr headlights have to be re wired for the led driving lights but was easy to figure it out. I have to say I preferred the fg f6 front design but after looking at it for 8 years the fgx just looked abit fresher and I was bored. Plus I priced the change over cost with all the engine work I already had I just could not justify dropping $40k for a new front end.
