More lag with a daily in the city could well work out to better fuel efficiency... Strokes for folks ay.

No matter what anybody says if the car has done 150k it will show it in the bushes, drivers seat and so on no matter if its only 2 years old or 5 years old. Things just break due to use. So look for something with lower k's. And get something you luv to look at no matter what your persuasion - BA, BF or FG. For me I loved the panda eyes on vixen so it was always gonna be the FG F6 Vixen. Also get out there and drive as many as you can to get an idea of how they handle. I really liked the stability of the FG over my BA. And there are also sorts of car conditions out there for the same year. Some owners garaged their cars and kept them spic whilst others park theirs outside under trees and let bird sh*t droppings damage the paint work. So drive plenty of them. Getting one that drives well will ode well when it comes time to mod or further mod. I drove a keenly priced FG F6 but farrk me if my BA felt like it had better acceleration. I just walked away. Then I found one from some bloke who bought his as a retirement present as he'd always wanted one. Farrken garaged it and hardly drove it (had a dickie knee) - it was the one ppsr is your friend (as you probably already know - get the receipt within 24 hours of your intention to hand over the cheque to protect yourself against 3rd party interests in the car) and make sure you meet the actual owner (not always the same person as advertised seller "selling it for my partner" yeah right) and get as many actual receipts for all servicing and work carried out (best to ring the garage shops whilst you are still with the owner as sometimes places don't like to reveal to much if the receipts are not in your name). Service receipts as cryptic as they can be sometimes like a doctors prescriptions can really tell you a lot about the history of the car than the owner is willing to reveal - even if some are missing (just use deduction to put 2 and 2 together looking at dates and mileage listed on the receipts). Stay away from "to good to be true" priced cars as there is usually a reason they are priced so that way in my opinion. Anyways - good luck in the search mate. I firmly believe you've come to the right place for unfettered advice - no friendlier helpful bunch of car fanatics you'll find on here all with an interest in the Fords your looking for

Much more evident in manuals thus will flog rear end bushes quicker. Only thing in my old BF that was better than in my FG2 is the known driveline shunt after a hit in a FG.
