Hey guys,

New around here so please let me know if my post is not in the right section or whatever. On to why Im here. I really want to buy an F6, preferably an FG, but considering the $10k average premium over the BF - is it worth it? Is there any reason not to buy a manual BF? The other thing Im curious about is whether purchasing these things with modifications is a good idea...? There is a very clean BF advertised pretty close to me, but its a 2006 that had mods done 8 years ago. It does have very few kms on the clock (70k), but yeah having never owned or even driven one of these Im just not sure what they drive like 8 years after being modified etc.

I'll be upgrading from an 08 XR5T with 92k kms, ModX map, intercooler, CAIS, 3" turbo back zorst. Stupid question, but worthy upgrade?

BF's look better says me and @-Stever- mmm especially BF F6's!

In regards to buying a modified car, I think it's a good idea. I got mine (09/2006 bf xr6t) with mods and 6 months on it's proving to be a good purchase with no inspection holes in the engine so far.....touch wood. Most of the previous owners of my car had plenty of money, I know this cause of the pile of receipts I got with the car, make sure to ask to see any the owner has!

Don't rush the purchase and I recommend driving more than one if you've never driven one. Try and test drive an FG and a BF so you can see the difference.

Thank you for the response, skids. Yeah I would be doing all the usual modding myself anyway if I were to buy standard, so better to just get something that's already got some mods and save money :dancing:

Whats your take on manual vs auto? I've always liked manual cars, but according to Drive the auto is best for the F6? I dont know, hard to believe I might just get a manual anyway.

If you want to win drag races get the ZF.  You lose at least half a second over the 1/4 mile if manual in most cases.  A buddy and I went to the track the same night and he was over a second slower, same model, same tuner, him with slightly more power.

If you really loved rowing gears in the XR5T you might want to stick to manual though, people tell me it's more rewarding.

You do have the option of manual mode with the ZF and to be honest I use that 99% of the time just to make sure I know what it's going to do when I step on the go pedal.  When they are modified the power is dangerous if it changes gears on you unexpectedly in unfavourable conditions (road dirty, rain, low tread etc).

depends what you want you want to do with the car.

for the quarter mile you'll be best in a zf car, for mad skids I'd get a manual.

all this talk about manual mate it's obvious you know what you want deep down is a manual F6 :3gears:

Manual makes steering easier... BF F6 is an awesome car. FG is nice but doesnt look as good.

Trust me there is no lack of mad skids available with a zf.
