Car is loaded up and parked at office.  I'll go straight from office to Spirit of Tassie this afternoon.

Are you planning to try the XCAL2 tune k31th?

I got 98 from the United in Devonport, set off and went all the way past Gladstone until I ran out of road. Went back through Scottsdale and the road between there and Launceston is fantastic. Haven't used the xcal yet :)

I'm now back in Launceston at the gym :showoff: fantastic day for it (the drive, I mean)

Okay - last meeting of the day done!

Google maps says I'm 22 mins drive away from Spirit of Tasmania ferry wharf so time enough to grab a burger then head off!

This cruise is definitely ON :thumbsup:

See you on the other side of the Bass Strait :drivingalong:

So, I drove back from Launceston to Devonport after checking out my old haunts (as mentioned earlier) and doing 110 on single lane roads is odd :)

Since I got back I got another tank of 98 from United and checked into my motel then quickly washed the car at the car wash, and started polishing it up... Holy crap does it need an expensive detail... I'll probably be polishing it until i go to bed tonight :spoton:

There's a stretch of 20km or so along the B82 just before Gladstone that's gravel... I was too far along from Bridport to turn around. Gladstone is fine, but you head out on C843 (I was intending to go to Ansons Bay) and then as soon as it branches into C844 it turns to gravel, but C844 continues on for a bit non-gravel but shortly up the road it also becomes gravel. This is where I "ran out of road" today.

Heading back through Gladstone but taking the "continuation" of the B82 on through Pioneer onto the turn onto the A3. Then it's fairly straight but still fun up to Scottsdale. As you get out of Scottsdale I think it turns into a Targa Tasmania stage, judging by the setup and quality of the road, but as you can see on the map, it's an awesome drive :spoton:

Here's the map of the route I took (minus the stuffing around in Launceston itself, total was around 520km for me).

Only took a couple of progress shots... it got too dark and late and "condensation-y" to attempt to get some "post polish pics"

first half of bonnet done (had only done roof also in view here, but it's not obvious at this angle) ->

whole bonnet done ->

I'll check if I missed anything in the darkness from tonight in the daylight of tomorrow morning and hopefully get a better(ish) pic of the completed job.
