Hi All,

I have just purchased a BF Turbo 6 and want to put a powerglide in the car but need to know if I can get a fair dollar for the manual conversion to be able to changeover.

I have the whole conversion available with Extreme Carbon race clutch included aperantly cost $2399 (was told $4000+ for the conversion but don't know what to put on it realistically).

Thanks for any help

Hi all,

I'm interested in this conversion as well. I've just fitted a t56 and extreme twin plate clutch as I'm running 350rwkw as absolutely destroyed my 5 speed. Any idea on costs to change to a power glide as I'm going to rebuild and run about 450-500rwkw? Also anyone running this sort of power/combination on the street? I know it won't be the nicest or most practical daily but is it bearable?

Minimum is $10k for a glide.

Can get even more expensive if you want to build it really strong.

It will rev very high (same as 4th gear in your T56) at 100km/h+ on the highway and will smash the rear tyres in the first gear from low speeds if it has a high stall on the torque converter.

Plenty of T56's around holding more than 450-500rwkw

Realistically so should the xtreme clutch, is it organic, ceramic or their carbon option?

It's an organic. I did have the ceramic at first but removed it as it was horrible to drive in traffic (peak hour Melbourne traffic). Xtreme have told me I'm right on the limit for what it will handle and given my experience with the ceramic am hesitant to have to spend another 2+ k on a clutch not suitable for day to day traffic.

What clutch are you running camo86T?

Right on the limit now??? With 350rwkw??? That doesn't sound right...

I've got an NPC hybrid twin plate - one organic and one ceramic plate

Not sure on power figures but the twin organic it's based on is meant to be rated to 550 flywheel kw so more than that

It's not too bad in traffic, bit more bitey than standard though.

But tbh if I was driving in peak hour traffic every day in Melbourne or Sydney I'd be getting an auto in any case.

@Trent0 is running a new NPC hybrid, organic + button I believe, rated at 1000hp apparently, hopefully he pipes up

@BAXRTUTE has got the same clutch but he is only allowed minimal power and has a rev limiter cos he hasn't passed driving school lol

Hey that's just mean Camo... will u teach me to kick it? lol

Its still nice tbh, love a manual with a beautiful clutch feel which this npc puppy has provided.

Plus have some great twisting roads to wear her in on till I see joe and boost it up to hopefully 22 or so
