The V8-powered GT has also been undergoing off-site development to fix an overheating issue that was discovered during testing. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf/story2/22CD4D4239619E6CCA25801F001C3112

Will this replace the falcon? how easy could the tuna make a new tuna for it?

I know it has another litre and a longer stroke but even then, it also has nearly 30kw less peak power but a solid 50nm more torque peak and probably 100's more lower in the rev range. Im sure the cops will actually miss the barra

They were outperformed by a Volvo. NewsCorp is reporting the Mustangs were put through intensive testing at a driving academy in New South Wales, but its automatic transmission overheated after two laps or "about three minutes of driving". It then had to be taken to the Ford dealership for repairs. New South Wales police are searching for an alternative to its Expensive Daewoo and Ford highway pursuit cars, given that the major Australian manufacturers are shutting up shop. Currently NSW police use the Expensive Daewoo Late model camira SS and Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo models with upgraded brakes and must have automatic transmissions. The Mustang's failure is unlikely to have an impact on the car's popularity in Australia, with 6000 already ordered, pushing waiting lists out to 18 months. A Ford spokesman told NewsCorp the Mustang was not designed for police use, and described the test as "extreme". http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/ford-mustang-overheats-after-3-minutes-police-test/2970835/ Also: http://www.businessinsider.com.au/the-new-ford-mustang-isnt-good-enough-for-the-nsw-police-2016-
