Ok so I have a ba xr6t that has aftermarket intercooler an pipeing 1000cc injectors iwg75 wastegate with 12psi spring

Exshaust etc to match

Car is dyno turned an tuned for 12psi.. was capped at 12psi due to faulty boost solenoid and needing valve springs upgraded

So they capped my boost to 12psi an bypassed the boost solenoid was running great for awhile (2 months)

Now my boost is reaching 17-19psi of boost checked for boost leaks etc an tried installing a boost tee to attempt to bring my boost down with no success car seems to run fine with the 17-19psi I can tell its leaning out abit but not ovally bad an dont want to blow a rod out the side

So any help on why the sudden over boosting? An any tips on gow to bring my boost back down to a safe level

Tell us where you are located and somebody will recommend a quality workshop for you.

STAY off boost entirely or you'll be like one of the few BA's I've seen on gumtree that list a 'hole in the block' as one of the features!

could be something like a blocked cat causing it from the crappy tune your car's been running.

Blocked cat will cause loss of boost not over boost.

isn't there something that can cause overboost with the exhaust?

must be tripping, either way can we agree it's not good for a tuner to bypass the wastegate control solenoid?

Yes, changing to a high flow cat without supporting boost control mods (ie wastegate porting)

But a blocked cat will cause an exhaust restriction that will hurt boost.

You don't need to go ex gate although it would give you the best control. A simple wastegate port job and larger flapper would also be suffcient.
