isn't that a touch annoying when wanting to use the A/C controls?

anything is better than the poor excuse for a standard setup though...

Check your battery voltage while cranking, I'd be willing to bet its dropping below 10v.

Thanks for the pics of the KVT-7012bt I'd been thinking about a flip screen as per what you've done.

How does one do that safely? Playing with electricity is scary.. Probably a side effect of being an idiot when I was a kid and trying to yoink a fuse out of a live street light.... anywaaaaaay....

THe KVT-7012BT is a US model, so the DVD player is locked to Region 1 (havent looked to unlock) and AM steps are different. 774 works for the cricket so all good, but its not bang on 774, its 770 I think.

Pioneer have a single din unit as well, but the android integration in it is inferior from what I read. There are a bunch of android based units on fleabay, but they didnt meet my requirements with hands free and what not... If you dont care about that, you can literally run torque off the head unit which is kinda awesome.

Yeah it gets in the way a bit, but the temperature is easy to get to and once its on I rarely change the setting other then temp. Its not a big deal to hit the retract button on the screen though.

have somebody crank the car while someone else watches a multimeter.

there are things that car parts shops have when they do a free battery test - they spit out the cranking voltage/etc

I do need to buy a new multimeter, guess there is an excuse.

So specifically, I'm assuming hit the positive terminal with the red wire, but earth it where?
