hey people. need a helping hand here. ive never messed with external gates before and im wondering if someone can give me a vacuum diagram for ba xr6t ext w/gate and its stock boost controller? its got a 12psi spring and wanna run up to 18psi. just alittle unsure and confused from the tsmart instructions that's all

Since there's no source to "hold it closed" then you only need to connect one end onto the gate (probably the top connection, but check your diagram - one will "help holding it closed" and another is the "crack open pressure/vacuum source") and it'll act like a IWG just with more volume control (hopefully it's bigger than a ported wastegate).

Yes. 

 

If your base spring pressure is correct that'll work just fine. 

 

Eff's second method is best for finite boost control but does need more tuning to get right.

No leave it open to atmo. Plugging it will make it over boost as it will prevent the gate from opening. 

 

Best practice would be a fitting and shirt length of hose run off the top port to atmosphere, but pointing Down to prevent dirt/water ingress but in reality it's not really required.
